Jibhi, located in the Banjar Valley of Himachal Pradesh, is a perfect mountain getaway for a weekend adventure. It is a valley full of picturesque landscapes and traditional Himalayan villages.
The moment you enter Jibhi, you will be awestruck by the view of a valley full of lush Pine and Cedar forest. In between these trees, you will find beautiful local wooden houses waiting to welcome you.
Deep in the valley, you hear the gushing sound of the Pushpabhad river. It flows down from Jalori Paas. During clear weather, the riverside is the perfect spot for you to try fishing. At a short distance from the river, Jibhi host a spectacular waterfall.
Apart from being a scenic valley, Jibhi also offers you a few adventurous short hikes.
Among them is the famous Serosar Lake Trek, starting from Jalori Pass. It is a short hike under the Pine and Cedar forest cover. And the trek takes you to a crystal clear alpine lake with spectacular surroundings.
Another short hike from Jibhi takes you to the ancient Chehni Village. The village is famous for the Cheheni Kothi Tower. It stands tall in the middle of the village, radiating the ancient old architecture.
Jibhi is also among those places, which can be easily accessible from Delhi. Hence, making it a perfect destination for a weekend escape.
Your thrilling journey will start on day 0 from Akshardham Metro Station at 8 pm. Our team will pick you and then depart for Jibhi. You will be travelling throughout the night, till next morning for 14 hours. In between, you will be taking small halts for getting freshen up.
On day 1, you will reach Jibhi around 10 am, after a thrilling drive throughout the night. At Jibhi, our team members will welcome you and take you to the hotel or homestay.
After that, you will have lunch in the afternoon. And post-lunch, you will visit the Jibhi Water Fall and explore Jibhi till evening. Enjoy the beautiful evening with a bonfire (if possible), music and a delicious dinner.
This day will be a long day, as you will visit Jalori pass and trek to Serosar Lake. After the delicious breakfast, you will board the transport and depart for Jalori Pass. The drive from Jibhi to Jaloripass is an adventurous drive, as you will climb on the road inclined at almost 70-80 degrees. While traversing through this road you have a beautiful view of the entire Jibhi Valley on the right side. You will also come across lots of beautiful local wooden houses.
After a thrilling drive for 40 min, you reach Jalori Pass. It is located at an altitude of 10,282ft. From Jalori pass you can see the entire Jibhi Valley and the road through which you drove. At Jalori pass you will find many small eating outlets and trekking gear shops. Spend some time exploring the Jalori pass and then head for the Sirosar Lake Trek.
The trek to Sirosar lake is easy and takes only 2 hours. During the trek, you will be walking on the well-laid stone path under the dense pine forest. Continuing on the trail you will also come across a variety of flora and fauna.
As the trail ends you enter an open area with a scenic alpine lake in the middle. It is the famous Sirosar Lake located at an altitude of 10,170.6 ft. The lake is surrounded by the thick pine forest with the temple at one corner. Spend some time absorbing the beauty of surroundings and return to Jalori pass.
From Jalori pass you will drive back to Jibhi.
On the third day after breakfast, you will drive to the base of Chehni Kothi Trek. It is a 20 min drive from Jibhi. As soon as you reach the base of the trek, you will start the hike. It is an easy, short hike. While trekking, you walk under the forest cover and pass many local villages.
After trekking for one hour, you reach Chehni Village. Here you will see a tall building made of stone and wood with ancient architects. It is the Chehni Kothi tower. You spend some time here exploring the tower and tales related to it. You can also interact with the friendly villager to explore the local culture.
After that, return to the starting point of the trek and leave for Delhi. You will reach Delhi by next morning around 5-6 am.
